A short story about dangerous allergies!

— -

“It was a dark and stormy night.”

Actually it was an unusually sunny and bright day for the spring, so much so that I was on the roof of my house writing my great novel. But why did I type that? Oh right my dog told me to write that. While thinking of where the story will go next I noticed the skies were precipitating some powdery substance. I looked up to find a swarm of yellow birds clumsily carrying pollen and making a mess over my setup. Enough that it became time to take everything inside the house.

While walking downstairs and my eyes were itchy. I was rubbing my eyes so hard that a small fire broke out, but quickly I smothered it with the palms of my hands. I really needed to run to the store and get the allergy medicine.

BAM! As I opened the front door of my house my orange stripey cat hurled itself at me and took me to the ground. He usually does that everytime I enter but he’s my best friend.

While walking to the store and I felt a sneeze coming, this one was a big one! Aaaaahhh-Choooo! Sneezed with so much power that my left eye fell out of its socket. But it was still connected by the nerve so pretty easy to plop back into place.

Finally got to the store and I found the ACME super powerful allergy relief — super duper ultra strength, guaranteed to fix allergy issues. There was only ACME brand medicine in that store. The rabbit behind the counter recommended it but I think he mistook me for someone else because he kept referring to me as “doc.”

The way home was mostly uneventful. My sinuses were super congested and so I shoved a firecracker up my nose. A few seconds later BOOM! And sinuses cleared.

The allergy medicine said to take with food so I took out some leftovers and started to microwave them. Bing! Just as I opened the door my other cat pushed me away and stole the food. Then he called me a loser and sauntered away. I sighed and then got something else to eat, and then took the medicine. There were red and blue pills in there and as usual I picked the blue one.

A little time passed, I felt a bit groggy so I sat on the couch and watched TV. It was some show about numbers. The cape wearing figure in the show kept saying ah ah ah. Soon I could only hear numbers and then it was sleep time.

I woke up on a couch but it was different than the one in my place. Instead of my car I saw a pair of cooling towers through the window. Also my skin was yellow and I only had four fingers. Weird. At least my allergies were gone! Later on my muscles were sore, so I had to make another trip to the store just like every other day that whole week.
